King for a day - Farrell SS13
While the British seaside now only holds memories of nostalgic promenades and deserted piers from a bygone era, for Jack Farrell it was so much more. It was a chance to escape the day-to-day monotony and hard working class environment. On the beaches and promenades, Jack was king for a day! Farrell’s SS13 collection reinterprets iconic menswear styles within its core range of premium men’s outerwear. Reefer and Trench coats are contemporised though fit but keep all the functionality and durability they are known for. Here they are worn to great effect to great effect over granddad shirts, cardigans and vests.
A classic “Dispatch Coat” with weatherproof detailing such as storm flaps and map pockets take its place in the line up, (COMMA) while a waterproof deck parka also takes note of these functional details and carries them forward in true Farrell tradition to create a collection centerpiece in stark navy. A “Chesterfield” continues the navy theme and features authentic butchers buttons and beveled patch pockets for a modern twist.
Warmer shades of stone are offered across pleated shorts and trousers, with Ticket striped granddad shirts worn under midnight blue suede blousons. Farrell’s relaxed tailored separates offer further colour options in pastel green and light blue to compliment the dressed down look.
Navy three-piece suits are loaded with vintage & modern details such as waist synch zippers, hidden pockets and heightened waists to drop into a slightly relaxed silhouette. Farrell’s silk lining, in ode to Jack, is carried throughout the range and is inspired by the pattern of his own vintage pocket square.
